The Lowcountry’s boating season kicked off with the 2020 Charleston Boat Show, which was celebrating it’s 40th year! Can you imagine 40 whole years of a variety of great boats, local vendors, fishing events and kid attractions? No wonder it’s one of our favorite shows of the year!
Going on my second year, I am always blown away with the amount of work it takes to put on a weekend boat show. We prepare months in advance for the show date by deciding which EdgeWater, Robalo and Chaparral models we want to take, constructing the showroom floor layout, ordering new boats from manufactures, counting trailers, scheduling drivers, designing brochures and ordering signs.
When our team gets back from winter break, that’s when the madness begins! Our Longshore crew worked tirelessly to prepare leading up to the show. We loaded box trucks, laid carpet, spotlessly cleaned each model, set up closing booths and more. This year we added large red carpets and TV window stickers that show you each boat’s unique features and pricing information on a video loop. Our goal is to set ourselves apart and adapt with the changing times every boat show season!
When show day finally arrives, you can always see the smiles upon our team’s faces because we know a few months of hard work really pay off when everything is put together. Boat show’s are always a great event to be apart of. It’s an immense feeling to see people’s eyes light up when they find the EdgeWater boat they’ve been looking for for the last 3 years or to see a dad return multiple times because he knew in his heart that he had to have that Robalo boat to take his kids out fishing on.
This year we had great show incentives that got people extremely excited about their potential new boat purchase! Yamaha Outboards had their sales event going on while we had our Veteran’s, Active Duty and First Responders promotion to honor those who have served. We also raffled off a chance to win $5,000 towards a new boat purchase that you could only get at the show! We announced it on Facebook LIVE and our winners were overjoyed to hear they received money off of their new 2020 Chaparral 21 H2O!
We’re always grateful for the opportunity to come out and see new faces, say hi to old ones and welcome in the newest members to our Longshore Family! We’re currently starting the process of breaking down the display and putting our showroom back together this week. If you missed the show, stop by the dealership on Clements Ferry Road to say hi and shop the boats we still have in stock! We’re already looking forward to next year’s show!
