How To Operate Your Livewell | Longshore Boats

Another common question we receive as a boat dealer, is how do I operate my livewell? We decided to make a quick how-to video to show you in case you were in need of assistance! In today’s demonstration, we used the 2019 EdgeWater 230CC.

To begin operating your livewell, start at the helm. Locate your livewell switch, turn it on until you see a light appear. Most boats only have one livewell, but this 230CC has two. The first is a free-flowing livewell. You’ll be able to tell that it is activated because of the light being on. Turn the valve to let the water flow and insert the drain plug. The water will circulate and stay fresh.

The secondary livewell has a clear lid allowing you to see your bait. This livewell is different because it has a drain overflow tube. Insert this into the hole, look for the light to ensure it is activated and turn the valve. Water should be flowing into your livewell.

Is there no water flowing? Locate your seacock valve and make sure the switch is turned to “on.”

When you’re finished with your livewell, make sure to pull the drain plugs out to let the water leave and return to the dash to turn off your livewell switch.

We attended the 2024 Longshore Rendezvous on Bulls Island this past weekend and had a blast. Allie was very hospitable and there were guys at the ready to help if you had issues with anchoring. I just took delivery of my fourth boat from Longshore Boats on Clements Ferry in Berkeley County. This one was a 246 Cayman Robalo. The Team at Longshore has demonstrated to me a willingness to work through logistics, customize the boat to your needs and make the whole experience enjoyable. We just bought our first boat from Longshore and Hector was our salesman throughout the process. I wrote a request for additional information on the boat I was interested in on a Saturday and didn’t expect a response until Monday. However, within minutes, Hector reached out to me and scheduled a time for me to come in that day. I have had my Chaparral for three years. It has been a great boat. Unfortunately, I recently had a major issue with my Yamaha engine and at the same time with a hatch on the boat. The boat and the engine are still under warranty.
