We’re back again with another exciting, new recipe for when you just feel like jumping on your new or pre-owned boat and catching your own dinner in the Charleston waters! Today we’re showing you how to make Pecan Crusted Grouper! Grouper is one of the most popular saltwater fish in the country with 85 different variations. These light and refreshing fish make for a great meal, so instead of breading it with your basic wheat crumbs, we’re coating it with pecans to step it up! This recipe is delicious and quick, so let’s get started!
INGREDIENTS:
– 2 fillets of fresh grouper
– 1 egg
– 1/2 cup of crushed crisp pecans
– 2 tablespoons of tallow
– salt and pepper
– coconut oil or avocado oil for cooking
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Measure one cup of pecans
2. Using a processor, grind the pecans until they are ground finely and spread them out evenly on a large plate
3. Scramble the egg in a bowl, then mix in the salt and pepper
4. Dip the fillets in the bowl, covering both sides
5. Thoroughly coat the fillets with the grounded pecans
6. Heat tallow in a large frying pan
7. Put the fillets in the pan and fry them for about 5-6 minutes per side on medium heat until they’re browned and cooked through
8. Serve immediately and ENJOY!
