Breezy weather was upon us this past weekend at the last boat show of the season: the 2019 Charleston In-Water Boat Show! The Bristol Marina and Brittlebank Park made a great location for this event, providing beautiful harbor views and enough dock space for every size boat imaginable. Vendors lined the shore and several dealerships brought out their favorite models for people to climb aboard in the beautiful Charleston weather.
Longshore began the week by deciding which boats we wanted to bring to the show, ultimately choosing models 23 feet and above. Then came the shifting all of the boats. I forget how big the dealership is when we start this process – there’s so much room and footsteps echo very loudly! After, we took the boats down to the Daniel Island Marina and we were off! We drove each model on the Charleston waterways to Bristol Marina, docked them and began detailing/setting up for the show.
The guys ended up letting me tag a long on a few of the runs that we made so I could get inventory photos and all I can say is WOW. What an incredible experience it was for me! I got a completely different view of Charleston from the water. I was given history lessons on different locations downtown as we rode past and they let me drive the boats a little (don’t worry I have my boating license now). People don’t realize how much freedom you feel when you’re on a boat – it’s a distinct perspective that you don’t get standing on the shoreline. Wind in your hair, sun on your face and cruising speed can change your mood in an instant.
Hundreds of people gathered at the show throughout this last weekend of March. It was the final chance to take advantage of all of the promotions so people we’re eager to get buying, which was a great event to do just that. There’s no other show during the year where you can see the boat of your dreams IN the water. You can climb aboard and imagine what it would be like to be all yours out on the open waterways.
We welcomed new customers into our Longshore family as they purchased their dream boats, while seeing some familiar faces gazing at their next purchases. Overall, it was a beautiful weekend with lots of boat admiration and love.
Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the last boat show weekend with us! We’re looking forward to what’s to come!
